Marcopolo shines in the United States presenting a midibus designed for that market

The Brazilian manufacturer with a long history in bodywork is betting on penetrating the North American market with a new vehicle, especially focused on a specific niche.

The well-known Brazilian gaucho manufacturer, which normally works in emerging markets, this time it is playing differently in a developed country. Marcopolo usually uses business strategies by uniting with local manufacturers (such as Superior at the time in Colombia) or well-known bus sales houses, as is the case in Chile with Epysa, now entering the United States through Creative Bus Sales, a well-known bus dealer. Sales in the North American country, focused on Van buses, small buses and school buses.

Grand Executive and Grand Shuttle are the references of the new Marcopolo product created and developed for the United States and presented at the CD/NLA of Las Vegas Show 2023, an exhibition fair aimed at the sector of rental services with drivers such as limousines. These two models will be produced from Mexico at the Polomex plant.

They are vehicles with a capacity of up to 32 passengers, load capacity, one with 9,980 kg, mounted on a Ford F59 chassis, have a length of 10,120 mm, a width of 2,500 mm, an external height of 3,277 mm and an internal height of 2,000 mm. the different configurations will have seat options with 940 and 1000mm width reclining. They are equipped with Valeo CC315 ceiling air conditioning that offers better air flow and low levels of internal noise.

They were designed and developed jointly by the Marcopolo Brazil and Mexico engineering teams, focused on rental or contracted transportation. The choice of the Ford chassis has been made thanks to its performance, economy, service and support throughout the North American country. These midi-buses are powered by a 7.3-liter gasoline engine, six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, low emissions, four-wheel disc brakes, as well as an anti-lock system.
