Peruvian Anita Tours receives 15 Scania f310 buses bodied by Irizar for operation in mines

MINING TRANSPORT CONTINUES TO GENERATE RESULTS FOR IRIZAR

22 July 2022

Anita Tours is a Peruvian company born in Cajamarca and has specialized in personnel transportation, mainly for the mining, agro-industrial and road infrastructure sectors. With a very important presence in the extractive industries, it has provided buses for the transport of personnel, involved in projects such as Yanacocha (copper and gold), La Zanja – Cajamarca (gold), Quellaveco in Moquegua (copper), the Modernization of the Refinery in Talara, among others.

Mining companies are very demanding both with the vehicles and the operation, which must never stop. For this reason, Anita Tours has been modernizing its very varied fleet of vehicles where it has vans, midibuses and large capacity buses; This fleet update has been marked by the combination of Scania chassis and Irizar bodies, receiving a new order for 15 buses for the transport of employees who work in the extraction of ore and its complementary processes.

"Currently 60% of our fleet is Scania and we have been working with Scania for its technology, its safety system, the retarder, the automated gearbox of this front-engine bus, it greatly benefits both the company and those who drive the units" Said Elmer Chilon, Operations Manager at Anita Tours.

The chosen chassis is the Scania F310 with a front engine, which is also beginning to be seen in Ecuador and in Peru is gaining acceptance by transport companies. Presented in the Inca nation in November 2018, it is designed to move on rough routes, combined with the Opticruise automatic transmission and the brand's retarder.

It also stands out for including the Electronic Stability Program (ESP), considering that it is rare to find this system in a bus with a front engine. The DC09 15 engines has a capacity of 9,300cc and delivers 310HP of power at 1,900rpm and 1,550Nm of torque between 1,000 and 1,350rpm. Its wheelbase can reach 6,800 mm and supports a maximum gross vehicle weight of 19,500Kg.

Anita Tours is a client that has relied on the “Andean” version of the Irizar i6, with Spanish technology and built at the Botucatu plant (state of São Paulo) that meets South American demand. This body version, mounted on a front engine chassis, has been conceived for challenging conditions and extreme routes that surround mines at altitudes close to 5,000 meters above sea level, where snow and mud are found, as well as roads in difficult conditions. .

These Irizar i6 are part of a package of 25 units with 16 i6s units and the remaining i6 front engine with Scania F310 chassis. Delivery units have 49 seats; the air conditioning, the floor heating and the air renewal system with the Eco3 filter have been developed by Hispacold (a subsidiary of the Irizar group).

It complies with regulatory standards R.66 and R80 related to bodywork construction and is equipped with sensors to detect the temperature of the occupants and whether they are wearing a mask, in addition to fatigue warning, all developed by Datik, a subsidiary of the Irizar group specialized in telematics, active security and ITS solutions for transport.

The delivery of the vehicles had the support of Scania Finance of Peru, which leveraged the acquisition of these new buses and in order for them to remain productive, Anita Tours signed a maintenance contract: all it takes is one call and the brand's technicians will have the best service options. A sample of the ability to offer comprehensive solutions beyond and understand business.
