Marcopolo begins production of its first 100% electric bus

Marcopolo, leader in Brazil in the production of bus bodies and a reference in the global market, started this month of August the series production of the company's integral Attivi, the model is the first bus of the brand with its own chassis and 100% electric. As announced by the company, by the end of this year, 30 vehicles will be produced with different configurations to meet the demands of different regions of the country.

Marcopolo is at the forefront of electrification in the Brazilian bus sector and has already has more than 350 electric and hybrid buses already running in several countries, such as Argentina, Colombia, Australia, and India, in addition to Brazil, with partner chassis.

National technology

The company is mainly betting on national technology to produce the brand's electric Attivi, which is part of its ESG strategy.

For some years now, we have been involved in different projects for vehicles powered by fuels obtained from renewable sources. Clean technology is a global trend and being part of the creation of a national electric bus value ​​our engineering”, says James Bellini, CEO of Marcopolo.

Since October 2021, Marcopolo's vehicle has been in assisted operation. Vehicles travel on a short, passenger-free route through the central urban area of ​​Santo André, in Greater São Paulo, for performance analyses.
