Scania presents the first intermunicipal gas bus in Colombia

Continuing the expansion of the portfolio of environmentally friendly products, Scania Colombia launches the natural gas-powered intermunicipal bus adapted for short, medium and long distance routes.

Scania presents the new K320 IB 4×2 intermunicipal bus powered by natural gas. The reduction in operating cost is 40%, guaranteeing savings for its customers and a direct contribution to a more sustainable transportation system through the Green Efficiency line.

With a capacity of 1050 liters of compressed natural gas, autonomy is guaranteed for various operations in the national environment. Additionally, it can refuel at any service station that supplies gas throughout the country, it has a 9.3-liter Scania engine and 320 horsepower.

Scania is at the forefront of a shift towards alternative fuels in transportation, offering a portfolio of products powered by natural gas for each operation that the customer requires. Natural gas is a technology that has already been proven in the country, success stories in different transport segments, both cargo and passengers are proof of this. Efraín Ospina, Commercial Manager of Scania Colombia, added, "We have gas units operating in all segments of cargo and passenger transport, we have developed a product for inter-municipal transport that adapts to the Colombian topography, reducing the noise level and vibrations for greater user comfort”.
